As a person who now sells . I can tell you ...Cary ,
As a person who now sells . I can tell you some people that sell , know how to sell and it is part of their personalities but are still hated.
As technical person who enables Sales People , i find it very annoying , that Sales Folks can get the job done better without me sometimes , but then i am sent it to fix the mess created , and the promises made . There are however Sales folks that use the tech folks to provide value to the sale it self , such sales rep while still travelling first class are not jerks to others .
I agree with tim that being a tech person and a salesman as a combined entity is few and far between , and its best to offload sales to people that have it in their DNA
Fuad Arshadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15194389075060133878noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2954359812249072053.post-30363502986081703002015-07-30T00:57:27.946-05:002015-07-30T00:57:27.946-05:00But you are a Jackass! :)
Just kidding. I know ex...But you are a Jackass! :)

Just kidding. I know exactly where you are coming from. I have friends that could sell snow to eskimos. Even though they are friends, part of me is really irritated by them because of the parts of their personalities that make them excellent salespeople. I don't think many technical people can really understand sales and as a result, they are doomed to failure unless they offload this to someone else.

Cheers

Tim...Tim...https://www.blogger.com/profile/17721555946005999179noreply@blogger.com
